The New Year has arrived! It’s 2020 and all things are possible! The holidays are over which means that it’s time to think about your goals and dreams for the coming year.
This does not have to mean joining a gym and losing some weight (although those are great goals). New Year’s resolutions are about making change, and change can be extremely difficult for many people.
Tips For Making Change Stick:
- Define your goal clearly. Set a realistic goal and time line to complete it. If you shoot for the stars at the start, you risk giving up early.
- Spend time contemplating why you have chosen this goal. If it’s too hard and not really that important to you, odds are you’ll give up.
- Figure out how to be accountable. Enlist a friend or family member to keep you honest as you take the steps towards your goal.
- Reward yourself along your journey. Remember that change is hard and every step towards your goal is a victory worth celebrating.
